Man guilty of friend, drug dealer murders

A Victorian man has been found guilty of the murders of his mate and a drug dealer in an armed robbery gone wrong.

Norden Wilio's friend Ali Ali, 28, fetched him after initially meeting Deniz Hasan, 40, to buy marijuana in the Melbourne suburb of Meadow Heights in March 2019.

When Mr Hasan popped the boot of his car and revealed he had "pounds" of the drug, Mr Ali said he had to go back home first to get more cash.

He returned with Wilio, who was armed with a shotgun.

When Mr Hasan tried to get away after seeing the weapon, he was dragged out of his car by Mr Ali and Wilio.

In a scuffle, shots were fired and Mr Ali was hit as well as Mr Hasan.

Wilio put Mr Ali in a shopping trolley and wheeled the 28-year-old man away as he was "screaming in pain" and begging local residents to call triple zero.

Last month, Wilio stood trial in the Victorian Supreme Court.

On Wednesday a jury found the 26-year-old guilty of the murders of Mr Ali and Mr Hasan. He was also found guilty of attempted armed robbery.

Wilio will return to court for a plea hearing on February 4, 2022.
