A court's decision to grant custody of a boy conceived by the rape of 12-year-old girl to his father, has been criticised by the victim's lawyer.

It has now emerged he was not seeking access to the child in the first place.
The rape victim’s lawyer Rebecca Kiessling said questions needed to be asked of the Sanilac County Prosecutor Office in Michigan about how it had been allowed to happen.
“There needs to be a full investigation into this office,” she told USA Today,
Ms Kiessling, who was also conceived through rape, is the co-founder of theHope After Rape Conception organisation and is working the case for free.
She said Sanilac county judge, Gregory S Ross signed an order awarding parenting time and joint legal custody to Mirasolo on 22 September.
Mirasolo’s lawyer, Barbara Yockey, said the issue was being resolved privately and that “he is not going to attempt to see the child”. She also anticipated a follow-up hearing later this month would be cancelled.
Ms Kiessling said Mirarsolo of Brown City forcibly raped and threatened to kill her client in September 2008, when she was 12-years-old .
He was later found guilty of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and sentenced to one year in jail. But he only served six-and-half-months.
In March 2010, Mirasolo committed another offence against a victim aged between 13 and 15 years old. He served four years in prison for that offence.
