A man claims his neighbours went on a ‘warpath’ against him after being driven mad by the sound of him emptying his dishwasher. While noise tends to be a common issue for people living in flats, this homeowner claims the people living below him took it to a whole new level.
But he told how he got the upper hand by forcing them into an ‘unwanted move’ after discovering they were breaking the conditions of their lease, the Mirror reports. Taking to the popular forum site Reddit, the man said: "Two years after I moved in, I had new neighbours move into the apartment below me.
"I was working a swing shift so my hours were 3pm-11pm, and I often stayed up late to 3am to do minor chores: dishes, cooking, cleaning (but not vacuuming). I also had two cats at the time. My new neighbours immediately went on the warpath against me.
"I could not make any noise without them banging on my floor. I unloaded my dishwasher at 11am on a Sunday and they flipped out. They complained to the office about my 'herd of animals'. They sent police to my door at 9pm because I was watching TV (at a reasonable volume with the subtitles on.)
"I literally could not make any sound without them complaining. It culminated in one of them pounding on my door for ten minutes after I dared call the office to express my frustration. So I called the office back.
"Told them that I did not feel safe in my apartment due to my neighbour's actions (legal grounds for me to break my lease). But then I dropped my bombshell. My neighbours had four people in a one-bedroom apartment that had a two-person max capacity.
"Apartment management told my neighbours they had to move into a more expensive two-bedroom apartment or their lease would be terminated. They moved to the larger apartment on the other side of the complex."
Since sharing their thread, the man's post has raked in 300 comments - where people rushed to the comment section to discuss the hilarious ordeal.
One person wrote: "Stupid people, don't they realise they should move around under the radar if they are breaking rules, lol." Meanwhile, someone else said: "Maybe they wanted to annoy OP into moving."
