Man gets creative in kitchen but his lasagna sandwich has divided opinion online

Lockdown has lead to a change in many of our eating habits - be it less fast food or an increase in meals you might not usually make, we have all been impacted in some way.

But one Facebook user has created a new meal combination that has truly divided opinion.

Taking to popular Facebook food page Rate My Plate, where users post photos of their meals to be judged by fellow members, one person has shared a rather unusual kitchen concoction - the lasagna sandwich.

The user shared a photo of the creation and it quickly amassed more than 8,000 likes and 13,000 comments.

And as you might have guessed, people had some rather strong opinions about the unusual dish, with one disgusted group member labelling it a "constipation sandwich".

Another person who wasn't convinced wrote: "Don't you even get enough carbs with the pasta sheets? I couldn't stomach that combo."

Someone else said: "Why?? Not seen one meal from this site that looks edible. Should be renamed how awful can I make my food."

However, there were many who thought it was a fine idea, with some even copying it and posting snaps of their own versions - and some suggesting the pasta dish was a revelation if served on toast.

Someone created their own version of the dish (Rate My Plate/Facebook)

In favour of the idea one person said: "That's amazing but only if the lasagna is cold."

Someone else said: "Only do this the morning after when the lasagna is cold and firmed up. Delish."

Another added: "My fav way to have my leftover lasagna, Make sure there’s plenty of butter on the bread first."

Another user has a further way to use leftover lasagna using garlic bread. They wrote: "The correct way to do this would have been... grilling the bread with garlic butter. Garlic bread, lasagna sandwich. BOOM. Thank me later."
