Man in critical condition after being found with serious head injury in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan

Gardai have launched an investigation after a man was found with a serious head injury in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan on Monday night.

The man is said to be in a critical condition in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Gardai in Carrickmacross were alerted to the injured man around 10.30pm.

Officers have said that they now believe that the injuries were accidental and non-criminal.

Emergency services attended the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.
