Man found with facial injuries after taking taxi home from town

A man was found in a street with facial injuries, scratches and bruises across his body after taking a taxi from Liverpool city centre to Hunt Cross.

The 23-year-old was taken to hospital after a member of the public found the injured man in Hillfoot Avenue.

Now Merseyside Police has launched an investigation into how the man got his injuries.

Police say it is believed the man had "taken a taxi journey" prior to being discovered in the street during the early hours of Saturday and detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "The man was found injured in Hillfoot Avenue, Hunt Cross by a member of the public at around 12.30am on Saturday, September 12.
