Man found with drugs after assaulting three emergency workers

Merseyside police officers arrested a man for allegedly assaulting three emergency workers and carrying an offensive weapon.

The man and two women were also arrested for suspected drug offences this weekend.

Officers stopped the man in Waterloo after spotting a suspected drug transaction, yesterday, on Saturday, June 5.

After searching the man, police recovered a large quantity of drugs from him.

The man was arrested for possession with intent to supply class A drugs, assaulting an emergency worker, possession of an offensive weapon and drug drive.

Further searches led to the seizure of a 'substantial amount' of suspected class A drugs and more than £5000 in cash.

The two woman were arrested following the recovery of the drugs and money.

A Merseyside police spokesperson posted on Sefton Police Facebook page: "Operation Pelican Officers have this evening arrested a male in the Waterloo area.

"This was after a suspected drug transaction had taken place and a male has then been searched. This then led to the recovery of a large quantity of drugs from the males person.

"The male was then arrested for Possession With Intent to Supply Class A Drugs, Assault an Emergency Worker x3, Possession of an Offensive Weapon, and Drug Drive.

"A subsequent search has then seen the recovery of a substantial amount of suspected Class A drugs, and in excess of £5,000. Two females have also been arrested due to the seizure of the further drugs and money."
