Man found with a Kinder Egg full of drugs wedged between his buttocks

A man has been fined after he was found with a Kinder Egg full of drugs wedged between his buttocks.

Okiemute Erunedo was a passenger in a car, which was pulled over by police on the evening of January 26 this year.

Officers arrested the 21-year-old after they deemed he was acting suspiciously and seemed to be hiding something, a court heard.

He was taken to Forth Banks Police Station and stripped searched, where a Kinder Egg full of wraps of cocaine was found between his buttocks.

Now, Erunedo, who lives Glengall Road, in London, but was up visiting his girlfriend in Newcastle at the time, has been fined £150 after he pleaded guilty to possession of a class A drug.

Omar Ahmad, prosecuting at Newcastle Magistrates' Court, said officers were "acting on intelligence" when they pulled over a black Ford Focus on January 26.

"The defendant was a front seat passenger in the vehicle," Mr Ahmad continued. "Officers believed he was concealing something.

"The defendant was arrested, along with the driver.

"He was strip searched in custody and a small Kinder Egg between his buttocks was seized."

The court heard that there were numerous small wraps of white powder in the egg, which later proved to be cocaine.

Lewis Pearson, defending, said Erunedo accepted he had the drugs for his own personal use.

The solicitor added: "The use of that drug was causing some difficulties and his stopped it entirely, now.

"He's looking for work and hasn't been in trouble before. He is ashamed."

As well as the fine, Erunedo was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
