Man found shot to death in Lawndale: police

A man was killed in a shooting Oct. 8, 2020, in the 4900 block of West Lexington Street. | Sun-Times file photo

A man was found with a fatal gunshot wound Thursday in Lawndale on the West Side, police said.

The 31-year-old was found with a gunshot wound to the head about 8:46 p.m. in an alley in the 4900 block of West Lexington Street, Chicago police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on the death.

Area Four detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
