A 29-year-old man was found shot to death inside a parked car Thursday near Trinity Hospital on the South Side.

Officers responded to a suspicious car about noon in an alley in the 9300 block of South Oglesby Avenue, within a block of the Calumet Heights hospital, Chicago police said.

Officers found a man inside the car unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police. Police determined that he had been dead for a while.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as 29-year-old Cyle Hemphill, of Beverly. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide, saying he died of his injuries, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Police initially said Hemphill was 25.

Area Two detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
