The 54-year-old was then rushed to Forth Valley Royal Hospital to be treated by medics, who described his condition as serious, but not life-threatening.

Officers are now trying to find out how the man sustained his injuries.

A large police response was reported in the street until Tuesday evening, with forensics also spotted at the scene.
