Man found seriously hurt in Bootle New Strand car park

A man has been found with serious injuries at Bootle New Strand this morning.

Officers have set up a cordon at the Strand car park, on the corner of Delaware Road and Vermont Way.

Police said a man was found seriously injured at 11.30am and taken to hospital by ambulance.

It is not yet clear what has happened at the scene but officers have told members of the public to avoid the area where possible while they investigate to establish the circumstances.

A Merseyside police spokesperson said: "Emergency services are in Bootle after an incident this morning, Monday 18 January.

"At 11.30am, a man was found seriously injured at Bootle New Strand car park.

"The man has been taken to hospital by ambulance.

"Enquiries are ongoing at the scene to establish the circumstances and we are asking the public to avoid the area where possible."
