Man found 'lying face down' in West Lothian play park

Paramedics were scrambled after a man was found lying face down in a park this afternoon.

An ambulance and first responder were seen arriving at Kirkton Park, Bathgate, shorty after 2pm on Wednesday.

Witnesses reported seeing paramedics standing close to the man near a play area.

One local said: "There was a first responder parked near the entrance and then an ambulance arrived.

"I don't know what happened but there was a guy lying face down in the park.

"You could see the paramedics attending to him as he lay there."

The historic Boghall park has been kept open by West Lothian Council during lockdown for locals to exercise.

A popular attraction, the park has been busy with families since restrictions came into force.

It was unclear who called paramedics or why the man needed medical attention.

His condition is unknown.

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
