Man found lying 'face down' in a West Lothian play park

Paramedics raced to the scene after receiving a call that the body of a man was lying 'face down' in a park in West Lothian.

Shortly after 2 pm on Wednesday (13 May) an ambulance and a first responder attended the incident at Kirkton Park, Bathgate.

Eyewitnesses have reported how the man was found 'lying face down' in the Bathgate park.

One local said: "There was a first responder parked near the entrance and then an ambulance arrived.

"I don't know what happened but there was a guy lying face down in the park.

"You could see the paramedics attending to him as he lay there."

The park in the Boghall area is popular with West Lothian locals getting their daily exercise.

It is still unclear why the man received medical attention and his condition is currently unknown.

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
