Man found injured on Glasgow street as police tape off scene

Police say they are following a "positive line of enquiry" after a man was found injured on a Glasgow street this morning.

Alexandra Parade in the city's east end was taped off as police and paramedics rushed to the scene.

The victim was taken to the Royal Infirmary for treatment although the seriousness of his condition is unknown.

Police Scotland say they are working to "establish the exact circumstances" and "investigations are ongoing" although they weren't called at the time of the assault.

A spokesperson said: "Police enquiries are ongoing in Alexandra Parade after a man was assaulted there earlier this morning.

"The injured man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Officers are following a positive line of enquiry."
