Man found injured at Salford house where Regan Tierney was murdered has died in hospital

A man found injured at the address where a mum-of-two was murdered has died in hospital.

Police were called to the home on Manchester Road in Walkden shortly before 2.10am on Wednesday to reports of concern for the welfare of a woman.

Emergency services attended and sadly found the body of 27-year-old Regan Tierney.

A 31-year-old man was also found critically injured at the address. This morning police said he died on Friday night.

Detectives have launched a murder investigation which is ongoing.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with Regan's death.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Packer, of GMP’s Salford district, said: "Regan’s family are understandably absolutely heartbroken and we have specialist officers supporting them at this devastating time."

Earlier this week, Regan's heartbroken family paid tribute to her.

In a statement they described her as "a loving mum who loved family life, she will be greatly missed by her two children and family."

They added: "Regan was taken from our lives too soon. She was a beautiful daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and an amazing mother. We will forever cherish the memories.

"At this time we respectfully ask for some privacy whilst we grieve the loss of our loved one."
