A man was found with a 'fake gun' in the back of a car at Liverpool Lime Street station after suffering a 'medical episode'.
One witness reported seeing an armed police presence at the station.
British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed they were called to respond to the city centre incident.
Officers were called to Lime Street station in Liverpool city centre just before 9.40am on Thursday, October 8 after receiving a report a man had suffered a medical episode.
On arriving, police found the weapon, an imitation firearm, which has been seized.
The man, who was in the back of the vehicle, was taken to hospital for treatment.
A spokesman for the BTP said: "Inquiries into the incident are ongoing."

Their statement, which was shared with the ECHO, said: "British Transport Police were called at 9.39am on October 8 to Liverpool Lime Street station following a report a man had suffered a medical episode in the rear of a car.
"Officers attended the vehicle and found a weapon, an imitation firearm, which has now been seized. The man has been taken to hospital for treatment. Inquiries into the incident are ongoing."
Merseyside Police were aware of the incident, but because it happened at the station, the matter was dealt with by BTP.
