Man found fatally shot in Englewood: police

A man was killed in a shooting Friday in Englewood on the South Side, police said.

Officers responded to a call of a person down about 4 p.m. in the 5900 block of South LaSalle Street and found the man unresponsive on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his back, Chicago police said.

The 37-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His identity has not been released by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

No arrests have been reported. Area One detectives are investigating.
