Man found dead within Glasgow city centre hotel operating as homeless hostel

A man has been found dead within a Glasgow city centre hotel that is currently operating as a homeless hostel.

The body of Jamie Roy was discovered within the Rennie Mackintosh Hotel on Union Street on October 22.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

They have now launched an appeal to help trace the relatives of the 48-year-old.

Anyone who has knowledge of Mr Roy's relatives is asked to contact the Administration department, London Road Police Office on 0141-532-4656 between 7am and 4pm on weekdays or e-mail police at GreaterGlasgowDASU@scotland.pnn.police.uk.

Meanwhile police are also appealing for help in locating a Glasgow man who was reported missing on Monday, October 25.

George McAuley was last seen around 7pm on Friday, October 22, around the Paisley Road, Seaward Street and Mavisbank Garden areas in Kinning Park.
