Man found dead on a laneway in Limerick

Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of a body of a male (late 60s) at Limerick Lane, Limerick.

The man was discovered shortly before 8am on Friday morning, January 22.

The body has since been removed to University Hospital Limerick. A post mortem will be conducted which will determine the course of the investigation.

RTÉ has reported that the man had been sleeping rough in the city centre and that he was known to homeless services in Limerick.

Investigations are ongoing.
