Man found dead near Edinburgh's Granton Crescent park as forensic teams and police seal off area

The body of a man has been found near Granton Crescent Park this morning, with police taping off the surrounding area, reports the Scottish Sun.

Police officers were seen at the park preventing people from entering, with a cordon in place and multiple officers at the scene.

Granton Crescent Park has community woodlands which were planted to mark the new millennium, as well as a play area.

Police Scotland have since confirmed that a body has been found near Granton Crescent at around 10.20am this morning (21 September.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Sun: "Around 10.20am on Tuesday, 22 September, 2020, the body of a man was found near Granton Crescent, Edinburgh.

"Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death are ongoing but it is not believed to be suspicious.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
