Man found dead in toilets of McDonald's restaurant

A man has been found dead in the toilets of a McDonald's.

Police were called to the fast food restaurant in Kensington, Liverpool at 5.10pm on Tuesday.

They found a man thought to be in his 70s unresponsive in the toilets.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are now working to identify the man and inform his next of kin.

One customer told the Liverpool Echo : "My husband was in collecting food when everybody was talking about it.

"The body was there at the time they were still waiting for emergency services to arrive.

"Staff were advising people away from the bathroom and to leave."

Merseyside Police said the death is currently being treated as unexplained.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called to a McDonald’s restaurant in Kensington this afternoon (Monday, 20 May) following reports of a sudden death.

"Police and the North West Ambulance Service attended the premises, on Kensington, at around 5.10pm where a man in his 70s was found to be unresponsive.

"He was sadly pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene."
