Man found dead in Stockport street after suffering 'medical episode'

A man died in Stockport after suffering a medical episode in the street, police have confirmed.

The emergency services were called to Moseley Street in Edgeley at around 7.30pm on Thursday.

Police say a man had suffered a medical episode. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called around 7.30pm on Thursday 28 January 2021 to report of concern for the welfare of a man on Moseley Street, Edgeley, Stockport.

"Emergency services attended and enquiries established a man had suffered a medical episode.

"He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. "

Police tape and a forensic tent were put in place and the area sealed off last night.

Pictures showed a large tent covering a portion of the street.
