Mr Nasim's next of kin have been informed and are being treated by specially trained officers.

A large emergency response was prompted in the area on August 26, including a large number of vehicles parked on Blackley Road, close to a footpath that leads to some woodland.

"Police were called to a report of a concern for the welfare of a man in Herristone Park" Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said in a previous statement.

"Officers attended and sadly found the body of a man.

"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances at this time."

An inquest opening relating to Mr Nasim's death is due to be heard at Manchester Coroner's Court on September 16.
