A man has been found dead in a 'mice infested' Glasgow hotel used for temporary accommodation for homeless people.
Police were made aware of the 'sudden' death of the man at The Rennie MacIntosh Station Hotel on the city's Union Street on Friday October 22.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
We told this week how the hotel had been branded 'unfit for humans' after residents took pictures of mice in their rooms and hallways.
Resident Terry Murphy has told how he was disgusted after vermin jumped into his bed at night.
The 48-year-old has spent six weeks living on the top floor of the hotel after he was housed there by the council.
Complaints about mice in the rooms were also made in April - with three residents reportedly moved out as a result.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of the sudden death of a man at premises on Union Street in Glasgow around 1pm on Friday, 22 October.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Homelessness campaigner Sean Clerkin said: " He was homeless and people who are homeless should not be dying in a mice infested hotel.
"I believe the homeless are being treated worse than animals because of their problems with drugs, alcohol and mental health problems and there are no adequate support services to help them in these hotels."
