Man found dead in Kilmarnock supermarket car park

A 63-year-old man has today been found dead in a car parked in a Kilmarnock supermarket.

Police sealed off a section of the Morrisons car park on the town's West Langlands Street following the discovery this morning.

There was a heavy police presence on the scene while investigations were carried out by officers.

Police are treating the death as unexplained at this time and enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Kilmarnock Standard: "A 63-year-old man has been found dead in a car in a car park in West Langlands Street today.

"A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death.

"However, meantime, the death is being treated as unexplained.

"A full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal and enquiries are ongoing."
