Man found dead in hotel in Liverpool city centre named

A man found dead in a hotel in Liverpool city centre has been named by police.

Philip Leyland, aged 69, was found dead at an unnamed hotel on Dale Street on Tuesday, October 26.

Merseyside Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Detectives said Philip Leyland was from Wales and Liverpool coroner's office is appealing for anyone who may know his family to come forward.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Can you help find the family of a man from Wales who recently passed away in Liverpool?

"Philip Leyland, aged 69, sadly died at a hotel on Dale Street on Tuesday 26 October.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

"If you can help trace his next of kin or have any information please contact Liverpool Coroners Office via email: HMCoroner@liverpool.gov.uk or contact 0151 233 5770."
