Man found dead in his apartment in Park Manor: police

The man was found June 18 with a gun shot wound to the chest.

A man was shot to death in his apartment Tuesday in Park Manor on the South Side, according to Chicago police

About 5:35 a.m., a 41-year-old man was talking on his cellphone while walking back to his apartment in the 6500 block of South Martin Luther King Drive when he told a witness that four people were following him, police said. He was able to make it into his apartment but was shot in the chest and killed.

The man was found dead in his apartment about 5:40 a.m., according to police. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the fatality.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
