Man found dead in Glasgow as police lock down streets

A man's body has been found in Glasgow, with police treating his death as unexplained.

He was discovered in the Springboig area of the city where police locked down a block of flats and cordoned off the park at Budhill Avenue this afternoon.

Both areas remain closed to the public, according to Glasgow Live.

CID officers and paramedic crews are also in attendance at the scene of the incident.

Buses and other modes of transport are now being diverted from the Hallhill Road area.

Police have said they are treating the man's death as unexplained and have launched an investigation into the findings.

First Bus Glasgow said: "Due to a police incident at Budhill Avenue service 46 is diverting to Shettleston from Esbank Street/Hollowglen Road/Greenfield Avenue/Hermiston Road and onto normal route We are sorry for any inconvenience caused."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 5.40pm on Wednesday 9 June, 2021, police received a report a man had died in Budhill Avenue, Glasgow.

"Emergency services are in attendance.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."
