A man has been found dead in a hotel in Fife .
Police were called to Drummond’s Hotel in Balbirnie Street at around 10am today after the discovery.
Detectives and forensics have been present outside the hotel for most of the day.
A cordon was put in place whilst an investigation was carried out.
Police have now confirmed they are treating the man's death as unexplained.
Inspector Rachael Burns of Glenrothes Police Station said: “Officers were called to an address on Balbirnie Street, Markinch on Wednesday, 20 November following the sudden death of a man.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
