Man found dead in Delhi guest house

NEW DELHI: A 54-year-old man, Deepak Sethi, was found dead in a guest house in southwest Delhi's Safdarjung Enclave, police said on Saturday.

The police received a PCR call regarding the death of a man at Hotel Baljeet Lodge at 12.49 pm on Friday, they said.

A resident of Indirapuram in Ghaziabad, Deepak Sethi checked in to the guest house at 8.50 pm on Thursday. He was accompanied by a woman who left the guest house around midnight, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Manoj C said.

Sethi was discovered the following morning with foaming near his mouth and stains on the pillow, he added.

He had consumed liquor in the room and there were no visible injury marks on his body, the police said, adding that Sethi had no stable job for the last seven-eight years and was doing commission work.

The police are trying to trace the woman who was with Sethi.

In view of the unnatural death in suspicious circumstances, a case of murder has been registered, Manoj said.
