Man found dead in car in north Manchester

Police have launched an investigation after a man was found dead in a car in Blackley.

Emergency services were called to the scene at the corner of Rochdale Road and Hilldale Avenue at around 10.45am.

Greater Manchester Police said paramedics contacted them a short time later due to concern for the welfare of a man in a vehicle.

Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating and it is believed the man's body was taken away in a private ambulance earlier this afternoon.

Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death are ongoing.

A GMP  spokesperson said: "At 10.45am on Thursday 20 February 2020, police were called by the ambulance service to reports of concern for the welfare of a man in a vehicle on Rochdale Road, Manchester.

"Emergency services attended and, despite the best efforts of paramedics, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the man’s death."
