Man found dead in campervan in Perth as cops probe 'unexplained' death

Police are probing the death of man who's body was found in a campervan in Perthshire.

Emergency services raced to a layby on the A85 near Comrie after the alarm was raised at around 4pm on Thursday.

Officers say the death is being treated as unexplained but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.

Formal identification is yet to take place, however the family of a 54-year-old man from West Yorkshire have been informed.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Police attended a layby on the A85 near Comrie following the discovery of a body of a man within a campervan vehicle on Thursday, December 12 at 4.10pm.

"The man's death is being treated as unexplained, but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.

"Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of a 54-year-old missing man from West Yorkshire have been informed.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
