Man found dead at Liverpool bus stop

The body of a man was found in a Croxteth street.

Police were called to reports of a man lying on Stonebridge Lane, at around 4.50am on Monday, November 21. They attended the scene and pronounced a man dead.

Forensic officers and detectives then set a cordon up surrounding the area, covering a bus stop where it is believed the man's body was found. Officers confirmed his death was currently being treated as unexplained but was not initially believed to be suspicious

Merseyside Police have launched enquiries to confirm the man's identity and a post-mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of death.

A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We can confirm police are in attendance after a body was found in Croxteth this morning, Monday 21 November. At around 4.50am, the ambulance service contacted police to report a man being found lying on Stonebridge Lane.

"He was sadly found deceased. Enquiries are ongoing to confirm his identity. The incident is currently being treated as unexplained but not initially believed to be suspicious."
