Man found dead at house in Limerick as gardai launch investigation

Gardai have launched an investigation after the body of a man was found at a house in Limerick on Saturday.

The man, aged in his 40s, was found at a residence in Bruree on Saturday afternoon.

Gardai sealed off the area for a time and have begun an investigation - however the incident is not believed to be suspicious.

A post-mortem will decide the course of the investigation.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man, aged in his 40s, which occurred on Saturday, 10th October 2020.

"The man was discovered deceased in a residence in Bruree, Co. Limerick. His body was removed from the scene and taken to Limerick University Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out in the coming days. The results of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation.

"Investigations are continuing."
