Melbourne man arrested over death at Altona home

Detectives continued to investigate at the home this morning.

A 48-year-old man has been arrested over the death of another man at a house in Altona, in Melbourne's west.

The body of a 26-year-old man was found at the house on Civic Parade around 11:20pm on Sunday.

On Monday afternoon, police announced they had arrested a 48 year old from the same neighbourhood in relation to the death.

Police said they were also speaking to another man and a woman over the matter.

Homicide squad detectives were seen examining evidence at the property, including a door which appeared to have bloodstains on it.

"Police are yet to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the death and the investigation is ongoing," a statement released on Monday morning said.

Neighbours have told the ABC the area was quiet, and they did not see or hear anything suspicious during the night.

No other information has been released.
