Man found dead at apartment building in Salford

The body of a man has been found at an apartment block in Salford.

Police were called to Encombe Place on Saturday (November 20) morning to a report of a sudden death.

Paramedics rushed to the scene, but sadly the male was pronounced dead at the scene, GMP confirmed.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A file is now being prepared for the local coroner.

Local residents described seeing a private ambulance being escorted by a police van on Encombe place on Saturday morning.

The man is understood to have been found inside the Old Courthouse - which has since been turned into flats.

No more details about the nature of the man's death have been released at this stage.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "Officers were called to a report of a sudden death just after 11.40am this morning (20 November 2021) at an address on Encombe Place in Salford.

"Emergency services attended and sadly a male was pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances and a report has been prepared for HM Coroner."
