Man found dead as police lock down street at Charing Cross

A man has been found dead at Charing Cross in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services raced to Granville Street following a report of a sudden death at around 4:30am.

The 55-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is currently being treated as unexplained however enquiries are at an early stage.

The road is was closed at North Street into Berkeley Street and at Sauchiehall Street into Granville Street for several hours, but traffic cops have now confirmed the area has reopened.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 0287 of 28th April.
