Man found 'collapsed unconscious in the middle of the road' by passerby

A kind passerby waited for more than an hour with a man after she found him lying collapsed and unconcious in the middle of the road

Posting on a social media group, the anonymous kind passer-by said the waited with the collapsed man after finding him on Alnwick Drive, Ellesmere Port, in the early hours of Monday morning.

The man was reportedly "lying in the middle of the road outside of Bunbury shops".

The Good Samaritan said: "I rang emergency services to get help. After a good 20 to 30 minutes, the man came round and was extremely intoxicated and was complaining of having pain in his head and shoulder.

"I remained with the man for well over an hour, trying to help him, while waiting for emergency services to arrive."

Despite the woman offering care to the unwell man, she claims he then became abusive.

She said: "The man became abusive towards me and tried to attack me in the street for trying to help him, so I came home and rang emergency services back to notify them.

"They cancelled the ambulance but police are aware and looking for him."

A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service confirmed they were contacted on Monday morning.

She said: "It looks like we were called to this area in the early hours of the morning but looks like the ambulance was cancelled by the caller."

The Good Samaritan said despite the incident she wants to know if the man was safe and has described his appearance.

She said he is in his late 50s, of slim build and was wearing blue jeans and a black coat.
