A boyfriend has been forced to sleep on the couch because he can’t put up with his smelly girlfriend, due to the fact she only takes a shower every two weeks.
The man who has been dating the woman for three years was oblivious to her very different hygiene routine.
Revealing the odorous issue online the man, who chose to remain anonymous, say things reached breaking point when the couple moved in together.
He confessed that his lady smelt so bad that he couldn’t sleep in the same bed as her and has resigned himself to sleeping on the couch.
Things between the pair became even more tense when he raised the issue with his girlfriend. During the discussion she became defensive saying her shower routine was ‘none of his business’, according to a Mirror Online report.
Taking to Reddit, the man said: “I love her, but I did not know what I was getting into. She doesn’t shower frequently. At all. She showers at max once every other week.
“Before we moved in together I didn’t notice any particular bad smell. Occasionally she had body odour which is human. I’m guessing she would take her occasional shower before seeing me.
“After a few months of trying to live with it, I was fed up. I had been sleeping on the couch because the smell was so terrible. I sat her down and tried to have a serious conversation about it.”
When the pair discussed the issue, the woman got angry and then she became upset, and now the pair aren’t seeing eye to eye.
After sharing his story, other Reddit users were quick to comment their advice - with most people saying that her hygiene routine was a problem.
One user wrote: “Even most anti-chemical no shower people do once every three or four days. I feel nasty once I hit my third day which occasionally happens because of toddlers. Two weeks is way too long.”
And another added: “I shower twice a day. I can’t even imagine how dirty she is showering so infrequently.”
While a third user said: “That’s nasty. She should be showering at least every other day. Maybe not washing hair depending on the person but she should at least be washing her body every other day if not daily.”
