A man has suffered serious injuries after a half-tonne plate fell on him at a worksite in a town on the Mid North Coast.
Paramedics and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter were sent to Harrington, about 30km outside Taree, about 11am on Thursday after reports that a 500kg plate had landed on a man's legs.
The Westpac helicopter service said the 58-year-old had suffered "multiple traumatic injuries".
He was treated and stabilised at the scene before being air-lifted to John Hunter Hospital.
