A 37-year-old Canadian rollerblading on downtown roads was charged by police with a misdemeanour.

TikTok video of Canadian Jordan McIver rollerblading from Nana to the On Nut area on Sukhumvit Road went viral on social media Friday. Viewers of the video expressed concern that he could have been hit by a vehicle or caused a road accident.

Pol Col Nimit Nuponthong, superintendent of Lumpini police station, assigned an investigative team to track down the man. Security camera footage eventually revealed that he was staying at a condominium in Lumpini district.

The man was later summoned to Lumpini police station to meet with police. He admitted being the person filmed in the video. However, he said he had only wanted to exercise while sightseeing, adding that he was unaware he had violated Thai law.

Officers charged Mr McIver with offences related to traffic obstruction and road safety. He was fined 1,000 baht.
