A dog owner has received a fine after his dogs were recorded barking 1,645 times in 20 minutes to the dismay of his neighbours.
John Peter Laveric, 45, of Pit Lane, Widnes, was convicted in March last year of two charges of breaching a noise abatement notice which was imposed in July 2019, according to Halton Borough Council.
He was required to stop his "large" mastiffs from barking but the local authority was still receiving complaints, the Liverpool Echo reports.

A Halton Council spokesman stated that Laveric's dogs were recorded barking 1,293 times in 47 minutes on March 9 and again were recorded barking 1,645 in 20 minutes on March 20.
The spokesman believed there were six dogs causing the ruckus.
At North Cheshire Magistrates’ Court in Warrington on February 1, District Judge Nicholas Sanders fined Laveric £200 and ordered him to pay £300 towards council costs.
Laveric was also ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge.
With the matter adjourned to July, the local authority has now applied for a Criminal Behaviour Order against Laveric.
A council spokesman said “The council takes all allegations relating to noise nuisance seriously and we will always work with residents to try and resolve any noise issues informally.
"However, we hope that this case sends out a clear message that the council will always strive to protect the interests of those affected by noise nuisance and will not hesitate to take robust enforcement action against the most serious and persistent offenders."
