Man fined £11k after drunken display on Jet2 flight from Leeds Bradford Airport

A man has been fined after he was found to be drunk on a Jet2 flight at Leeds Bradford Airport.

Alexander Lewis, 29, has been ordered to pay £11,000 by magistrates after pleading guilty to being drunk on a Jet2 aircraft. Court documents show Lewis, of George Street in Cleethorpes, was drunk on the aircraft on September 8 this year.

A not guilty plea had been entered, but this was changed to guilty when he appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on September 21.

A separate charge of assault, said to also taken place at Leeds Bradford Airport, was dismissed. Lewis was ordered to pay a £10,000 fine and £1,000 to fund victim services after admitting to being drunk in an aircraft. He was ordered to pay this amount by October 19 this year.
