Man fighting for life in hospital after being attacked in east London

A man in his fifties is fighting for life in hospital after being found with head injuries in the street in east London.

Officers found the man on Fernhill Street, Royal Docks, at about midnight on Tuesday, after reports of an assault.

Scotland Yard said the man was found with head injuries and rushed to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said: “He was taken to a central London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

"No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.

“A crime scene remains in place.

“Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference CAD 36/25June or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111.”
