Man fighting for life after serious incident in Coatbridge as two men arrested

A man is in critical condition after being found injured on a Scots street.

Emergency services raced to Sikeside Street, in Coatbridge, at 12:25am on Friday, November 19 to reports of a man found with serious injuries.

The 60-year-old was discovered in the street and rushed to Monklands District General Hospital where he remains.

He is said to be fighting for his life.

Two men, aged 24 and 55, have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 00.25am on Friday, 19 November, 2021, police were called to an address is Sikeside Street, Coatbridge, where a 60-year-old man was found seriously injured.

"He was taken by ambulance to Monklands District General Hospital where he remains for treatment. Medical staff describe his condition as critical.

"Two men, aged 24 and 55-years-old, have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are continuing."
