A man has been left fighting for his life after a crash in Runcorn.
The man, 41, was a passenger in a silver Mini Cooper when it crashed on the A533 Southern Expressway at around 6pm on Monday, October 17. Emergency services rushed to the incident and found the driver had fled from the scene.
The Mini cooper had come off the road and overturned onto an embankment. The passenger was left trapped in his seat.

He was released by firefighters and taken to Aintree hospital, where he is currently in a critical condition. Police have confirmed and investigation has been launched and a 29-year-old man, from Widnes, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He had since been released under investigation.
Police Constable Liz Thompson, of the Serious and Complex Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This was a serious collision which has left a man with critical injuries. As part of our investigation we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and believes they may have witnessed the collision.
"The same goes for anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident. We would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed, or anyone with any dashcam footage of the silver Mini Cooper being driven from Widnes Town Centre, towards Runcorn prior to the collision.
"From our enquiries so far, we believe the car drove from Widnes Town Centre at 5.47pm and across the Mersey Gateway bridge towards Runcorn. I urge anyone with any information – no matter how small – to get in touch."
