A man is fighting for his life after a collision involving four vehicles this morning.
Emergency services were called to Liverpool Road in Widnes at 9.12am following reports of a crash.
A Cheshire Police spokesman told the ECHO officers found the collision involved four vehicles - a Mercedes sprinter van, white transit van, a blue Renault Clio and a black Ford Focus.

Paramedics treated one person at the scene.
He was taken to hospital, where his condition is described as “life-threatening” after he suffered a “medical episode”.
A bystander told the ECHO a section of road was re-closed again later in the day due to the emerging seriousness of the incident and that police have been gathering CCTV.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said one vehicle attended the initial morning response.
Firefighters were at the scene for around 40 minutes, and cleared liquid from the road.
An online incident log appeared to place the collision at or near the junction with Prescot Road and Hale Road.
One police patrol car remained on Prescot Road when the ECHO attended this afternoon.
A further marked vehicle and unmarked vehicle were seen pulling away from the scene.
Police have appealed for information.
The force spokesman said: “One person was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital, he is currently in a life threatening condition.
“The man is believed to have suffered a medical episode and is currently in a life threatening condition.
“Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML1089972.”
