Man fighting for life after being hit by car in Glenrothes

A young man is fighting for his life after being hit by car in Glenrothes.

The 27-year-old was struck by a westbound silver Vauxhall Vectra while crossing Formonthills Road around 8.25pm on Thursday February 6.

He was rushed to to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where doctors describe his condition as critical.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.25 pm on Thursday 6 February 2020, a 27-year-old man was seriously injured when he was struck by a westbound silver Vauxhall Vectra whilst crossing Formonthills Road, Glenrothes.

"He was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where medical staff describe his condition as critical.

"The 42 year old male driver of the Vaux Vectra was not injured. Enquiries in to the crash are continuing."
