A man is fighting for his life after falling near New Brighton beach.
Emergency services including police and North West ambulance service were called to the promenade, near Fort Perch Rock, after a concern for safety of a man.
They arrived at around 9.35pm, on Sunday, January 15, and found a man has fallen. The man, in his 30s, had suffered serious injuries.

After being rescued he was taken to hospital by ambulance. Police confirmed that his condition is being described as critical.
A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We can confirm that emergency services were in New Brighton following a concern for safety last night, Sunday 15 January. At around 9.35pm, the ambulance service reported that a man in his 30s had fallen near to Fort Perch Rock and sustained serious injuries.
"He was taken by ambulance to hospital and is described as in a critical condition."
